Format

This is a 3 hour synchronous workshop facilitated in Zoom. You will receive a Zoom "invitation" to access the workshop one to two days before the workshop date. Post work is required for workshop completion.

Workshop Description

Research shows that the use of instructional technologies (tools within the LMS or available online) provides an avenue for active learning, motivation, and student engagement in all learning modalities. Instructional technologies present learning challenges and opportunities for access to, usability for, accessibility of, and effectiveness in learning that affect both faculty and students. By their very nature, instructional technologies require time to discover, explore, ensure accessibility and effectiveness, connect with our course components, write cohesive instructions for, effectively launch and facilitate, and thoroughly evaluate. In this workshop, we will learn evaluation strategies and processes for effectiveness and accessibility of instructional technologies. Additionally, we will apply effective instructional technology use to accomplish one or more learning objectives for at least one of your courses.

How This Workshop Connects With Other eLearning Workshops

While there could be an advantage to taking this eL134 prior to either eL202 or eL304, the value of eL134 will occur when taken afterwards as well.
